  3. Location Based Service
If you download the unsigned version of the MapQuest Find Me application, you may see the following pop ups when MapQuest Find Me application is first started:

    • all http connections

To confirm that your new MapQuest Find Me application is working properly, please startup the application. From the MapQuest Find Me Home screen, navigate to "People" and then select "Me". If an address is returned for your current position then your MapQuest Find Me application is functioning properly. If after restarting the application and following the above directions you are unable to retrieve an address for your position, please contact MapQuest Find Me customer support.

When your MapQuest Find Me application is first installed, by default, it is in "Inside Mode". This will only allow your MapQuest Find Me application to retrieve cell tower positions. To gain greater position accuracy you can switch the "GPS Mode" to "Outside Mode". To change your "GPS Mode", startup MapQuest Find Me. From the MapQuest Find Me "Home" screen, navigate to "Settings" and then "GPS Mode".
After changing your "GPS Mode" from either "Inside Mode" to "Outside Mode" or "Outside Mode" to "Inside Mode", you MUST restart MapQuest Find Me for the settings to take effect. Also, please note that in "Outside Mode", your BlackBerry will need an uninhibited view to the sky to obtain a GPS position.
